Pioneer Works Studio
This advanced studio at Pioneer Works was organized to investigate competitive advantage on the Red Hook Brooklyn waterfront. Debates in community often intersect with the notion of agency. We used positioning premises to explore the “expanding field” and capabilities of community to generate differentiation and competitive advantage for Red Hook Brooklyn.

Future Now Summit
The Future Now Summit brought together more than 120 emerging and established practitioners at the CFA to consider the future of the profession. Presented as the signature program event of Future Now, 2012 AIANY President Joseph J. Aliotta’s, AIA, LEED AP, presidential theme, the Summit considered the evolving roles of marketing/branding, social technologies, diverse business models, and civic leadership within the architectural industry. Considering the Summit’s success, Aliotta hopes “this summit will become an annual program at the Center for Architecture to continue this vital dialogue.”

Staten Island Workshop with R/UDAT

STATEN ISLAND, NY -- EAST SHORE -- Exciting new visions for the waterfronts in Port Richmond and Stapleton were on display at the St. George Theatre on Tuesday December 19th. The presentations culminated three months of intensive work by more than 70 undergraduate and graduate students from the New York Institute of Technology's School of Architecture and Design as part of the Regional/ Urban Design Assistance Team (R/UDAT). The formal designs -- on large folding display boards -- packed the theater's lobby and rear orchestra area. A dizzying display of 25 polished, comprehensive community plans were on view -- 21 for Port Richmond, and four for Stapleton.
